We spend the weekend Glamping at the Wigwam Holidays Glenlivet site at Tomintoul in the Highlands of Scotland.

Wigwam Holidays Glenlivet shares its name with one of Scotlands finest whiskies. They are based just at the end of the Main street in Tomintoul, famous for being the highest village in the Highlands.

During the weekend in the Cairngorms National Park we visited many tourist sites including:

Drumin Castle

A ruined tower house near Glenlivet, Moray, Scotland. The castle is situated on a ridge above the junction of the Livet and Avon Rivers. It is a designated scheduled monument.

Blairfindy Castle

An L-plan tower house, dating from the 16th century, around 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north of Tomintoul, and west of the River Livet. The tower was a hunting seat of the earls of Huntly. The building is derelict. However, in 2019, a project to stabilise and make the castle al-hilal vs al kholood safe was completed.

Lecht Mine

A former iron and manganese mining site located in the parish of Kirkmichael, Moray, Scotland. Today only the building of the crushing plant remains.

The Glenlivet Distillery

The distillery sits in a wild and remote glen, its history laced with drama and intrigue. So in every bottle of whisky we make, we capture as much of the spirit of the glen as we can.

We also stopped in Aviemore on the way home as well as the Battle of Bannockburn battle site.

On our way up to Scotland we stopped at sweden eurovision 2026 the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum legend in Glasgow to see the paintings and artefacts.
