AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D Review – Good CPU, Terrible Launch [dPFtu48pqOm]
When AMD announced the Ryzen 7 7700X3D at Computex 2026, the idea appeared straightforward: offer gamers a cheaper route into an eight-core X3D processor on socket AM5. The processor itself is not the problem. In Leo’s testing, the Ryzen 7 7700X3D delivers strong gaming performance and frequently comes close to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, while drawing slightly less power. The problem is its launch price. AMD’s official UK price is £294.99. At the time of filming, the faster Ryzen 7 7800X3D was available from major UK retailers for essentially the same money. Add the extremely high current cost of DDR5 memory, and AMD’s supposedly affordable route into AM5 becomes very difficult to justify.
