Jackie remains stable but critical while receiving intensive care. The good news is that she is eating on her own, her energy and alertness have improved, and she has become more feisty during feedings. Jackie also received a blood transfusion, and her PCV—an important measure of red blood cells—rose from 8% to 16%. However, she remains severely anemic, and veterinarians are still investigating the underlying cause of her illness.
