We’ve learned she he got a life-saving blood transfusion from another eagle named Spirit at a zoo in Bakersfield. Jackie is alert, perching, eating. The inflammation in her kidneys has improved. There’s an effort underway to conserve a critical habitat, near the nest, from being developed which could cut into the eagles territory – forcing them to leave. The Friends of Big Bear Valley have been trying to raise money to buy the land. We talked to them it about on this week’s episode of Beaks – before the news about Jackie.
