Survive a Summer Power Outage! DIY Cold Room Hack [6ePSxcimLBl]

Having lived for weeks without power ⚡️after a hurricane in a hot gulf coast ☀️ summer, I learned a few things about how to stay sane and comfortable. Building a cold room 🥶 was the smartest thing we did to survive a multi-week power outage in triple digit, summer heatwave. Besides a generator, you’ll need a portable solar power station and Anker makes some of the best around. If you’ve gone through a similar experience and have additional helpful tips, please leave a comment and explain. 🤩 I made this video to, hopefully, help some of the hundreds of thousands of people in my hometown of Houston who are going on 6 days without power in the humid summer heat. If you live in a hurricane prone area you need to make sure you can build a cold room in an emergency. With another 2.5 months left in Hurricane season, please stockpile these items and 15-25 gallons of fuel now. Anyone who survived this recent event in Houston will tell you it’s a small price to pay for being prepared. It’s almost impossible to ride out a multi-week, long term power outage in a hot summer climate. But, with less than a $1,000 investment you can get through it by simply having an inverter generator, window unit air conditioner and a large battery backup or solar power generator. ⚡️☀️ These are all Amazon links to products I purchased myself and regularly use in my DIY Solar System. 👍🤩🔋 Victron Energy Lynx Power In Battery Connector - Modular DC Bus Bar connections for 4 Batteries or loads Ferrule Crimping Tool Kit, LUNEY Wire Ferrule Kit with 1250PCS Wire End Ferrules & Crimper Plier, Recoil 10 Pack Silicone Terminal Covers for Alternator Battery Stud and Power Junction Blocks, Fits 10-2 AWG Wire, 5 Red and 5 Black Pairs Blue Sea Systems Class T Fuse Blocks Blue Sea Systems 5119 FUSE A3T (CLASS T) 300-AMP TEMCo Hammer Lug Crimper Tool - Crimps 8 AWG to 4/0 Battery (Workbench-Mountable) Johnson Level & Tool 700 Magnetic Angle Locator, Orange, 1 Locator Klein Tools 60197 Work Gloves, Cut-Resistant Gloves ANSI Rated A2 DasMarine Solar Panel Tool Solar Connector kit 10 Pairs Female&Male Connectors,Solar Crimping Tool iCrimp ICP-240 Cable Stripper for AWG 12 to 4/0 Round Cables, Radial Wire Stripper Klein Tools CL390 AC/DC Digital Clamp Meter, Auto-Ranging, 400 Amp, LCD Display, TRMS 1.5FT RV 15A to 30A Pig-Tail Power Adapter Cord 5-15P Male to TT-30R Female Dogbone, Easy Unplug Design, LED Power Indicator.
