Okay so a lot of people ask me where can I move Nick? Nothings affordable anymore in America. Well at least the places worth movin to. And to that I say - thats not true. Theres a lotta places you could go. You just gotta know where to look.
Im gonna go through all the states and tell you which cities you federico cin can move to and afford. Im only gonna middlesbrough vs southampton focus on the ones worth talking about. Cause who wants to move to middle nowhere Nebraska right?
Here are some of the places I talked about:
Alabama: Muscle Shoals is a super cool place and houses there are in the $250,000 range. Look at this downtown, right?
Daphne/Fairhope, all of this south of Mobile is really nice, and you can retire down there in a house for $330,000.
If you need to be near a big city, northwest Arkansas is the place right now. This whole area here from Bentonville all the way down to Fayetteville is booming right now. Tons of stuff to do and its really safe and clean and everyone there loves it. Theres a big college nearby and a bunch of jobs. But get there fast. Its gonna be out of reach soon cause word is out.
The only part of Florida I saw that is cheap is the panhandle at this point. You can get a place in Tallahassee or Jacksonville for about $300k if you wanted something decent. They arent too bad actually. Other than that, its redneck trailer park land. Nothin against our redneck brothers and sisters. I saw some stuff up here in Bonifay that was around $150.
Idaho. Here we go. I spent a week here last summer, and I think this might be my new favorite state. Its just super here. Everyones sensible and its clean and safe. Now Boise is all over the place. Its probably my top 5 favorite cities Ive been to, and I have high standards. Within 30 minutes of Boise are all sorts of new and somewhat affordable.
Twin Falls is lovely. This whole area here in southern Idaho is just super nice but its boring hot farmland. So keep that in mind.
Iowa. The whole state. Affordable and wonderful. Every place I saw. Okay not Keokuk or Dubuque. I loooove Des Moines. Top 10 city. No shit. Its just stupidly low for a house here. Like $250k for something decent. Its safe and fun and no bums. Not yet anyways.
I did a video called I explored 10 small towns in Iowa and you should watch it. I drove through places Id never heard of and it was just glorious.
The only part of Kansas I think youd consider are the Kansas City burbs.
Kentucky actually has a lot of awesome. Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, Paducah, Lexington, Frankfurt. Kentucky is probably one of the most slept on states. It gets such a bad reputation because of Louisville and the eastern hollers. If you want a midwestern experience with some actual mountains nearby, well, go take a look.
Grand Rapids is one of the best cities youve never considered. Its a fun, hip cool beer drinking place with a bunch of mid forty year old hockey and soccer parents. You can get a deal deal here for under $300k and have a good life. Honestly, anything west of Grand Rapids all the way to Lake Michigan is small rural towns with well mannered kids and no crime.
Minnesota is like Iowa - just about anywhere you go in the southern half of the state is cheap, rural and safe
Nebraska! The entire state.
