Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has been cast in the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's bestselling novel, ‘Children of Blood and Bone’. The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, features a star-studded ensemble including Thuso Mbedu, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ is set in a mystical African kingdom and follows a young woman’s quest to restore magic to her people. The film is currently in production, with principal photography having commenced in Lagos in February 2025.
