Day 1 of the Lindsay Clancy trial gave us our first real look at how the prosecution and defense plan to present this case — and several things immediately stood out to me as an OB nurse. In this video, I recap the key moments from opening statements and Patrick Clancy’s testimony, while looking at the evidence through the lens of my experience as a registered nurse in labor & delivery and high-risk OB case management. We heard about Lindsay’s mental health in the months leading up to the deaths of her three children, her treatment and medications, changes Patrick observed, and the competing arguments over her mental state and criminal responsibility.
