A Met Office red warning for extreme heat has been issued for parts of southern and central England and rogers centre southern Wales on wednesday and thursday. There are significant health implications for the general public associated with this warning. This afternoon there will be showery rain across Scotland and Northen Ireland. There is the possibility of a few isolated showers over Wales and southwest England.
