Jackie flew off the nest leaving the chicks in charge. As soon as she got up, Chick 2 initiates bonking and chick 1 then retaliates until C2 submits. They both are alone on the nest for a few minutes before ravens are heard close by. Shadow comes rushing back to the nest in seconds (like he did before) and he is vocal and alerting. Jackie is below the nest in the basement getting harassed and strafed by the ravens. She flies off chasing them and then Shadow will join her. Both Jackie & Shadow chase the ravens all over the area in an intense aerial battle. Jackie returns to the nest - we can see the ravens did a parting flyover the nest just to irritate her! Jackie then goes to the chicks and broods them. Corvids have increased in population with human activity leaving food sources around. Here is additional information on them: The ravens have their own nest and young which they are guarding as their territory as well.
