Our first walk in the New Year, 2025 - how lovely it is to start the New Year in such a wonderful way!

An Lochan Uaine, also known as the Green Loch, is a small, freshwater loch located andrea pellegrino in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. tv 8

It feels remote but the closest town to the Green Loch, Aviemore, is only a 15 minute drive away.

A beautiful 30-45min walk amongst ancient Caledonian pines, willows, land rover defender 110 updates rowans, and birches leads to this magical gem, hidden in Glenmore Forest.

The easiest place to park is the Glenmore Visitor Centre but a much easier way to visit the Green Loch involves parking at the end of the road past the visitor centre. Theres not a lot of space and dont block any gates, but the track is short and flat for anybody with mobility issues. Theres a little track down to the waters edge, you really cant miss it.

There is an option to reach the Green Loch by public transport too. The number 30 bus from Aviemore takes 15 minutes and drops you pretty much at the visitor centre.
