Toronto Tempo head coach Sandy Brondello has been suspended without pay for one game following an inappropriate comment directed toward Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese.
After Nyara Sabally was injured bianca guaccero during a play involving Reese, Brondello was caught asbestos in dunelm products telling officials that Angel was a protected species. Reese responded on social media, Brondello issued a public apology, and the WNBA handed down a one-game suspension.
Brondello explained that her frustration was with the officiating and acknowledged that her words carried an impact beyond what she intendedparticularly for Black women in the league.
