The video opens with Shadow arriving with a stick after Jackie had just left for a break. He tries to place it and ends up knocking the older chick over at 01:11. The chick is okay - bounced right back up like a weeble wobble.
Shadow will pick up the coot that he brought in earlier & begin to defeather it giving the chicks their first lessons! He then will go to brood them until Jackie arrives with a fish! Shadow leaves and Jackie will begin a feeding but Shadow returns with some reddish fern leaves - very nice fluff for the nest which Jackie will spread over the nest and chicks. She will begin a feeding and give some bites but the chicks are stuffed! No more food Mom! Jackie continues to try and feed them Thank you for watching!

Chick 1 or 2 died on nest during a storm 3/14/25. We have no way of knowing which chick was lost because they were very close in size; they also grow and change very quickly at this stage.
