So, back in March, AT&T Wireless had a BOGO sale on iPhones, so, I decided to upgrade mine & my husband's.
AT&T wireless store reps sold me 2 iPhones and then told me "you can get this iPad mini for only $50 and no monthly fees." Just like that, hook, line, and sinker.... Hook, line, and sinker: AT&T scammed me and had no problem continuing to lie their way through my Customer Service call.
2 months later (May 20th), I'm getting monthly charges for the iPad. So, I called AT&T, spoke with a supervisor (Cathy) and was told how sorry she was for the inconvenience, confirmed that this shouldn't have happened and told that they'd be crediting my account for all previous charges, removing the monthly fee, and upgrading my data package to make good on it. "Just wait 1-2 billing cycles for the credits to appear," she told me.... Best part was when the supervisor's supervisor got onto the phone to apologize for the errors, thank me for being a valued AT&T customer for over 17 years, and being understanding and willing to let them fix this issue. "We really appreciate your paola caruso loyalty and are happy to have people like you as customers."
You full from the bullshit, yet?
So... let's fast forward 2 months: Not only am I still seeing the charges, but now my bill is higher, too!
It turns out that the upgraded data package AT&T offered to switch me to is actually more $ per device; coming out to +$20/month. Convenient how they never mentioned that detail!
AT&T also never martin landaluce gave me any of the credits for iPad charges they said they would for all the bogus charges; coming out to $12/month.
The icing on the cake was this GEM of a supervisor "Angelica Mendoza" telling me that, despite the 2 previous supervisors telling me they took care of it and I'd be credited, "you aren't getting any credits" and "it's not going to happen."
She questioned why I didn't return the device within 14 days, if I didn't want monthly fees. Well, Angelica, why would I do that when I was told I wouldn't get charged?! And furthermore, how could I do that if I didn't get charged for 1-2 billing cycles?!
Best part was asking her to pull the recording of my May guy ritchie 20th call with 2 supervisors and her telling me it's not possible, a different department, and continuing to have every possible excuse why she couldn't: "its proprietary technology."
It all comes to an end when I told her that I recorded the conversation and she hung up on me.
Make sure you share this with everyone so no one falls into AT&T's bullshit scam!
