U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett made a rare and emotional appearance before Congress, urging lawmakers to hmp frankland approve additional funding for judiciary security after revealing personal threats against her and her family.
Barrett recounted a recent swatting attempt at her home and described having to wear a bulletproof vest during periods of heightened threats.
"I didn't expect that performing this service was going to put me in the position of explaining to my children amanda seyfried what a bulletproof vest was and why I had to wear one."
Joined by Justice Elena Kagan, norcross high school Barrett called for stronger security measures to protect federal judges amid rising threats.
