Storms are once again developing across the Plains today as the severe weather focus shifts from Denver to St. Louis. While large hail will be most likely across the Dakotas, strong wind gusts up to 80 mph remain the primary concern from eastern Colorado through Kansas and into Missouri. An isolated tornado threat is also possible near St. Louis and central Missouri. Looking ahead, the active pattern continues Friday and Saturday across portions of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, and the Southeast before a strengthening heat dome expands across much of the United States.
