Ricky Pearsall Scores First NFL Touchdown 10 Weeks After Getting Shot In The Chest [W6zHUOMJ01I]
Ricky Pearsall caught his first NFL touchdown in the 49ers’ Week 10 win over the Buccaneers, less than 10 weeks after he was shot in the chest. Pearsall’s memorable afternoon saw the rookie receiver finish with four catches for 73 yards and the score. The Phoenix native starred at Corona del Sol High School, where he broke multiple records. Pearsall started at Arizona State before transferring to Florida for his final two seasons, where he amassed more than 2,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. The 49ers drafted him 31st overall but before the season began, on August 31, Pearsall was shot by a 17-year-old attempting to rob his Rolex in Union Square. Ricky recovered fast enough to attend the first game nine days later, where he presented jerseys to the first responders who saved his life. Before the win over Tampa Bay, Pearsall took the field in a shirt featuring Brandon Aiyuk, whose starting spot he took over after a season-ending injury. (photos/videos: 49ers)
