Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., questioned former top health official and scientist Dr. Anthony Fauci in a hearing Wednesday held by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. The hearing was aimed at again questioning Fauci on the origins of the coronavirus. Committee chair Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., subpoenaed Fauci to appear, and released more than a thousand pages of his pandemic-era diary over the weekend. Fauci has vigorously denied Paul’s accusations that he lied about the pandemic, calling them “preposterous.” During the hearing, he repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment rights, declining to answer any questions.
