In Conversation With is a segment of interviews where I sit down with musicians that have inspired myself and others in our time at the University of Stellenbosch and in future within the broader music industry of Cape Town. With this segment I aim to speak to young musicians and professionals about their studies, careers and future plans and hopefully these interviews can inspire myself and someone else.

In todays video I sit down with a vocalist and acquaintance Ryan Hurst.

Ryan Hurst big brother season 28 premiere is a passionate singer, currently pursuing his final year in BMus under the tutelage of Xander Kritzinger.

During his undergraduate studies, Ryan has been part of the "Ensemble Productions" since 2021, which involved a variety of operatic and musical chorus parts and solo works.

In 2023, he debuted his solo-performance career as part of a Woordfees production with the Cape Choral Academy and rae the Cape Town Baroque Orchestra, for the "Bolandse Misse" production. He performed a second time as a soloist with the Cape Choral Academy, debuting a work by Winfried Ldemann. Ryan also sang musical theatre works in the student organised "Masquerade" production which was a compilation of musical theatre songs, duets, and ensembles works.

This year Ryan hopes to chiara iezzi finish his undergraduate studies, afterwhich he intends to pursue post graduate studies performance.
