Surfing A Secret Big Sur Spot Thoughs On The Barbarian Days Story Of This Reef Break Isaiah Joe [SK37Wyb4dWZ]

This is a journey into one of California's most beautiful and controversial surf break.

We captured the last of the summer swell in late August at a spot on the Big Sur coast famous among locals, but taboo to say its name, which starts with the 6th letter of the alphabet.

It's a place of cool, turquoise water and epic waves, but also a code of silence.

Despite this unwritten rule, this very break was featured in William Finnegan's Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life, and a 1982 New Yorker article. Linked here.

But Finnegan painted a dark picture of this south swell reef break, highlighting the poison oak and hostile locals and vampire-like kelp forest and creepy naked people on the beach. naomi osaka

Was this a genuine warning, or a clever way to keep the crowds away and absolve himself from the backlash of writing about a secret place?

This shakira video is for anyone who loves surfing in wild, remote places, and for those who appreciate the rich, and sometimes complicated, culture behind the sport.

Note that the take-off and landing of the drone for the shots in this film were done on public land and flying in FAA-approved airspace. All fight regulations were followed according to state and federal laws.
