FOX 17 News is in a Code Red Weather Alert for strong to severe thunderstorms Monday. A few morning showers can't be ruled out Friday. The first chance for storms arrives Friday late morning into the afternoon and evening. A few strong storms could pop up with damaging wind gusts being the main concern. Those storms will stick around into early Saturday morning and could impact the start of the St. Jude Rock 'N Roll Marathon in downtown Nashville. Rain chance have decreased for the morning hours. More scattered showers and storms are possible Saturday afternoon. Sunday is beginning to trend drier with no severe weather threats. The Franklin Main Street Festival will also be impacted with shower and storm chances both days of the weekend. Monday is shaping up to be the biggest threat of the week. The Storm Prediction Center already has much of Tennessee in a level 2 out of 5 risk zone for severe weather, and all types of severe storms appear possible. The timing and areas of highest concern will likely shift over the next few days. Now is the time to prepare for the chance of storms. The good news is Middle Tennessee desperately needs the rain. The drought-stricken region could see anywhere between 2 to 3 inches of rain through Monday. _______________ Follow! Like! Share! Subscribe!
