A lifeguard's dramatic rescue of a young boy trapped by powerful waves at a beach in Santa Cruz, California, on Saturday (July 25) was captured on video. The rescue took place at 3:32 p.m. local time on Saturday, July 25, at Seabright State Beach in Santa Cruz on the central California coast, a spokesperson for California State Parks said. The video showed the lifeguard, who is reportedly a teenager, grabbing the young boy and guiding him toward the shore as a series of powerful waves knocked them over in the water and pulled them back toward the ocean. A second lifeguard was seen joining the rescue and helping the young boy reach the beach safely. The boy had no serious injuries and was released to his parents, the spokesperson said. The rescue was among 34 performed by Santa Cruz district lifeguards over the weekend, the spokesperson said. California State Parks declined to make the lifeguard available for interviews. — Reuters (Production: Vinaya K, Aaron McNicholas, Monica Naime Writing: Nathan Frandino) For more ABS-CBN News videos, click the link below: For more Breaking News & Live Coverage videos, click the link below: For more latest news and analysis from ABS-CBN News videos, click the link below: For more News Digital News Raw Cuts, click the link below: Subscribe to the ABS-CBN News channel! - Watch full episodes on iWant for FREE here: Visit our website at Facebook: Twitter: Instagram: #ABSCBNNews #LatestNews
