Exploring hidden lochs in Scotland | Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park | DHShields

On a recent trip to #Aviemore near the #CairngormsNationalPark in #Scotland we decided to try to find a few hidden lochs tucked away in the wilderness.

Loch Morlich was indeed earthquake now a vast, mountainous scene with picturesque surroundings but it was definitely Loch An Eilean with it's 'floating' 13th century castle that captured my imagination and inspired me to paint the landscape. Our trip ended with witnessing the famous Strathspey steam train as it departed Aviemore in a cloud of white. Overall a fantastic trip which we thoroughly enjoyed :)
