Hurricane Genevieve 2020-08-17 - 2020-08-23 [sxYyRMp03Ss]

Hurricane Genevieve as viewed from GOES-17. She spins up off the Mexican mainland and is worked her way northwest along the Baja coast. In between she got up to Category 4 but has weakened below tropical depression status in cooler waters. Moisture from Genevieve is being pushed into northern California in with chances of lightning and thunder storms from San Francisco north in the pre-dawn hours of August 24. Hopefully they will not spark wild fires like the previous event on August 16. Geocolored images from RAMMB / CIRA via NESDIS
