A federal judge says eight of the Jan. 6 defendants who had their sentences commuted by President Donald Trump this week are barred from entering the capitol and Washington, D.C. area without permission from the court. The Justice Department filed a motion Friday asking to lift the order imposed on commuted Jan. 6 defendants barring them from entering Washington, D.C., and the Capitol building. The order was issued by a federal district judge earlier in the day. In that order, Judge Amit P. Mehta specified it applied to "Defendants Stewart Rhodes, Kelly Meggs, Kenneth Harrelson, Jessica Watkins, Roberto Minuta, Edward Vallejo, David Moerchel, and Joseph Hacket," whose sentences were commuted.
