Today on Jan 16, Gov. JB Pritzker, surrounded by elected leaders and community leaders, just signed the Clean Slate Act into law. The Clean Slate Act will streamline expungement and record sealing statewide, helping millions of Illinois residents hindered by past arrest and conviction records. The legislation is five years in the making and is the result of tireless advocacy from the Clean Slate Illinois Coalition, a diverse group of social justice and criminal justice organizations.
