Andy Serkis On Animal Farm: Animation, Politics & BFI London Premiere Dave Filoni [ucZ3Wwfj0FS]

Just when I thought the #BFILondonFilm Festival lineup couldnt get any bigger, #AndySerkis is finally bringing his long-awaited take on #AnimalFarm to the screen!

This is a project Serkis has been chasing for over a decade, and its now fully realized as an animated feature. Its a bold reimagining of George Orwells classic, mixing innocence with darker themes that feel more relevant than ever.

The cast is stacked: Seth Rogen as Napoleon, Kieran Culkin as Squealer, Laverne Cox as Snowball, Woody Harrelson as Boxer, Glenn Close, Steve Buscemi, Kathleen Turner, Jim Parsons, and even leon must die forever Serkis himself as Mr. Jones and Old Major. Plus, Gaten Matarazzo voices Lucky, a new piglet character who gives us a fresh perspective on the story.

In our chat, Serkis opens up about why hes held onto this project for so long, the importance of the subject matter, and how animation gives him the freedom to keep the story accessible while saudi arabia still tackling weighty, political themes.

After premiering at Annecy, Animal Farm is now on the official BFI London Film Festival program in the Family section showing how it can reach both younger viewers and adults alike.

This ones been a long time coming, and I cant wait to see how Serkis balances Orwells allegory with a whole new animated style.
