Two rounds of severe weather possible in Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky [yCp80Lv0086]
An active weather pattern begins Friday for all of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. Severe storms are possible through Monday next week. The first chance for storms arrives Friday afternoon and evening. A few strong storms could pop up with damaging wind gusts being the main concern. Those storms will stick around into early Saturday morning and could impact the start of the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in downtown Nashville. More scattered showers and storms are possible Saturday afternoon. Sunday brings another round of scattered rain, but severe weather is less of a concern that day. The Franklin Main Street Festival will also be impacted with shower and storm chances both days of the weekend. Monday is shaping up to be the biggest threat of the week. The Storm Prediction Center already has much of Tennessee in a level 2 out of 5 risk zone for severe weather, and all types of severe storms appear possible. The timing and areas of highest concern will likely shift over the next few days. Now is the time to prepare for the chance of storms. The good news is Middle Tennessee desperately needs the rain.
