Flock cameras installed at the intersection of Route 4 and Route 49 in Angels Camp are sparking debate among residents over privacy and public safety. The cameras, which have been operational since May of last year, capture license plates, vehicle make, model, color, bumper stickers, and even dents. Angels Camp Police Chief Steve Poortinga said the technology is essential for public safety and investigations. "I can understand the concern from the community, but this is new technology.
