Ben & Jerrys Ben Cohen Chainsaws Model Pentagon In D.O.P.E. Protest Against Military Spending Ferto [dJPfwh9H56R]

Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream held a "Department of Pentagon Excess" or "DOPE" protest in front broxbourne of the US Capitol on Tuesday morning, describing examples of wasteful military spending before taking a chainsaw to a model of the Pentagon filled with prop dollar bills.

Larry Wilkerson, retired Army Colonel and former chief of staff to State Colin Powell, said that America is "so rapidly going downhill that I would say, at 81, that I might live to see its collapse."

"I am scott probst thunderstruck at how complacent the American people are."

"This war machine that exists inside of our country is not to protect American citizens, but to wage war, colonization, imperialism, resource theft, and to make the rich richer," said US kartik sharma Army veteran Josephine Guilbeau.

"So today, I stand before you to challenge this long-standing assumption that pouring billions of dollars into the Department of War automatically ensures the safety of the American people. It does not."

Cohen says he has "huge concerns" about the military being used on American soil.

"That's not the America I grew up in," he says, also referencing ICE raids.

"What I heard was 'oh that sort of stuff, that's done in those countries way over there that are run by authoritarian regimes that are monsters' and now the monster is us."

"Jerry has a really, really big heart," Cohen explained about his co-founder Jerry Greenfield adding that it was difficult to be in conflict as an employee "doing something Unilever doesn't want done."

"In terms of the campaign to free Ben & Jerry's, we're both all in!"
