The public drinking ban lasts from noon on Friday until 7am on Saturday, and will follow the same timing on Saturday night. It does not include restaurants and cafes with public seating areas. Takeaway alcohol sales will be banned from 6pm on Friday to 7am on Saturday, and again on Saturday. Paris has also banned the Pride event this weekend, for which hundreds of thousands of people were expected to line the streets. Police said it was too dangerous in the extreme heat.
