Cat runs from bed seconds before Japan earthquake hits [dWHeeqOswok]

A pet camera caught the moment a cat narrowly escaped falling books and objects during a magnitude 7.1 earthquake that struck Kumamoto, Japan, on Tuesday, July 28. The quake registered as seven, the highest level on Japan’s seismic intensity scale, which measures surface level shaking. Video filmed in Kumamoto City shared by @purutyann2596 shows her cat jolting awake and scampering off the bed as the earthquake struck, right before various books and decor fell onto the bed. As of Wednesday morning, 13 people were confirmed dead in connection with the quake, according to NHK. #JapanEarthquake #Earthquake #Japan #Kumamoto #Kyushu #Tokyo #Tsunami #SeismicActivity #BreakingNews #EarthquakeNews Watch more on Independent TV: The Independent is the world’s most free-thinking newsbrand, providing global news, commentary and analysis for the independently-minded.
