Jason Berry walks through Alaska Airlines new global luke kennard training center with the ease of someone who knows the building, the business, and the people inside it.

Berry, a 30-year aviation veteran, became Alaska Airlines chief operating officer in November, taking over day-to-day operations at a pivotal moment for the company.

Alaska had recently completed its merger with Hawaiian Airlines and was preparing to expand more aggressively into long-haul international flying while still working to rebuild customer confidence after multiple major technical failures in 2025 and the infamous Boeing door plug incident the year before.
