AMD just told graphics card makers the Radeon kit costs at least ten percent more. Here's the part most of the coverage skipped: the increase wasn't written this week. The supply channel that broke the story says AMD finalized the plan a month earlier and then parked it — and it listed four reasons for parking it. Three were about a soft consumer market. The fourth was that Nvidia hadn't raised its prices yet. Guess which one moved. To be fair, the squeeze is real. AMD sells the GPU core and the GDDR6 memory to its partners as one bundled kit, so the memory bill genuinely lands on AMD's invoice — and sitting on the increase held that cost off the channel a month longer. Two things this is NOT: AMD has not confirmed any of it, and this is the price of the kit AMD sells to board partners, not a retail MSRP change.
