Hurricane Genevieve turned from a weak Tropical Storm into a monster category 5 hurricane in the matter of 36 hours in the Equatorial Pacific over this past weekend. This is all thanks due to the very warm ocean waters fueled by El Niño, defined by above average sea surface temperatures in the Equatorial Pacific.
