Badwater 135 - Worlds Toughest Ultramarathon | 2023 Race Result [dQv5QrCz9QD]
Results are in! Badwater 135, known as the world's toughest foot race, is a 135-mile running race from Badwater Basin in Death Valley to Mt. Whitney. In extremely harsh temperatures, about 100 lucky lottery winners from around the world competed on July 4-5 for the 2023 ultra running title. This year's race was won by Ashley Paulson, as she set a new Badwater women's course record, 21:44:35, almost beating the men's course record (21:33 set by Ishikawa in 2019). Ashley also was the first women's finisher in 2022. This year's first male finisher was Norwegian runner Simen Holvik in 22:28. Last year's winner, Yoshihiko Ishikawa, finished third in 2023 at 23:52. There are no losers -- this is an extremely hard course and just finishing within the 48-hour time limit is a feat in itself.
