Our thoughts are with her, with hopes of a full recovery and return to her mate Shadow.. With Sandy and Luna believed to have dispersed, Shadow also spent very little time in the nest area yesterday. He was seen briefly in the early morning, but remained absent for the rest of the day. In the evening he was again seen briefly. The young female, however, was seen frequently as she continued to explore the territory, moving from the Cactus Snag to the Twin Pines and then to the Simba Tree. She appeared increasingly confident and comfortable, calmly surveying the valley from each familiar perch. At one point she called out. And as night fell, we catch a glimpse of Shadow as vocals echo across the Valley... What will tomorrow bring? Will Shadow return to the familiar perches — and will this young female still be there when he does? For now, the valley is quiet, and another day at Big Bear comes to a close.
