Trump doubles down on $1bn BBC lawsuit threat - its only a matter of time until BBC have to pay [xzH5hrXjTQd]

Donald Trump has said that he has an “obligation” to sue the BBC for $1billion after his speech was edited. The US President has let rip over the October 2024 Panorama programme that spliced sections of his speech to suggest he directly stoked the 2021 insurrection. BBC Director Tim Davie resigned from the Corporation over its “deceptive editing” of Mr Trump’s speech following massive criticism against the broadcaster for deceiving viewers. The Beeb was then plunged into a deeper crisis earlier this week as lawyers for the US President demanded a “full and fair retraction” by Friday alongside damages, or he would see them in court. Appearing on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle, Trump blasted the company after the way his speech was “butchered”. The president, who was asked if he would go ahead with the lawsuit against the BBC, then responded: “Well I guess I have to, you know, why not, because they defrauded the public, and they’ve admitted it”.
