Twenty years after Little Miss Sunshine changed independent cinema forever, Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette, Paul Dano, and Abigail Breslin reunited at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah the very same venue where the film first premiered in 2006 for a special anniversary

screening that ended with another standing ovation.

When asked for their favorite memory of working with Arkin, the cast landed on the same story a prank Kinnear pulled during rehearsals.

The moment came during a van trip to a bowling alley and diner to rehearse as a family. The second the van pulled out of the production

office with Kinnear behind the wheel, Arkin announced he needed to use the bathroom. Kinnear refused to pull over keeping up the bit with such commitment that he nearly blew through a red light just to stop Arkin from getting out. Dano recalled the whole thing perfectly, and

Kinnear simply smiled and confirmed: "That's true."

Little Miss Sunshine went on to gross $100 million worldwide, earn four Oscar nominations including Best Picture, and sell for $10.5 million

at Sundance al nassr one of the biggest festival deals ever made at the time.
