Congratulations Luna on a beautiful fledge & maiden flight! Luna was on the high perch this morning just itching to go! Instead of doing a lot of flapping of his wings, Luna held his wings out fully in a confident & deliberate position for flight! Luna fledged at 09:24:43AM PST at 85 days old! WTG Luna!! We were all cheering you on! Luna flew directly to the Simba Tree and landed in the treetop. Shadow was in the Simba Tree on a branch just below where Luna landed and he watched his youngest eaglets take his first flight!! Once both Sandy and Luna are more comfortable making their way around the habitat, we will likely see some family gatherings.
