Ever since I was a kid, Ive dreamed of fishing in Alaska, and today, that dream finally came true. We flew from Boise to Anchorage, woke up before sunrise, and set out to find a stream Ive been anticipating all year. The timing couldnt have been better; sockeye salmon were charging upstream, and thousands of dolly varden were stacked right behind them.

Every cast was chaos. We caught fish after fish, mu stock price surrounded by incredible scenery, crystal-clear glacial water, and the raw beauty of Alaskas backcountry. From sight-fishing to aggressive eats, this was DIY fly fishing brandon valenzuela at its finest.
