Everybody’s talking about the Children of Blood and Bone casting, but here’s what I’m stuck on. If the concern is that the role should go to a dark-skinned Black woman, why were Zendaya and Tessa Thompson being pushed for it before? I also think there’s a difference between an actor trying to build a career and an actor who’s already rich enough to turn roles down.
