FOBBV ~ SUB ADULT FLIES TO TWIN PINES BUT SHADOW FLIES OFF! SHE ROOSTS ALONE UNDER FULL MOON 7.27.26 [1489JdVXVKc]
Shadow & the sub adult spent the night in the roost tree but in the morning Shadow departs (does a flyby in front of the cam) and goes his separate ways. The sub adult flies to cactus snag and perches for a while then flies off. Shadow is seen right before noon perched in the Twin Pines. A couple hours later, the sub adult spots him and flies in. Shadow was not thrilled and he immediately departed and was not seen on cam for the rest of the afternoon or evening. The sub adult remained on Twin Pines (with a few brief breaks) for about 6 hours before she flew to the Roost tree to sleep. Shadow was not in the Roost Tree so she is roosting alone. There is a beautiful full moon that arose over Big Bear Lake which our cam op was able to get some great closeups! I wonder if Shadow was thinking of Jackie tonight looking up at the big full moon wondering where she is & if she will return to him ♥ It was nice to see Jackie making some improvements with her anemia treatment at Ojai Raptor Center today. She is very sick but she is fighting to recover! She has the spirit of a warrior & thousands of people are praying for her to be well again. This sub adult has beat the odds at survival and will be coming into adulthood in the next year - she is behaving normally and is not doing anything wrong. She is just trying to survive, explore territory and follow her natural instincts. She may continue to follow Shadow around the territory and perch in the surrounding trees. We would not have known how sick & weak Jackie actually was without the altercation on the ground with two other eagles resulting in her rescue and treatment now. Mother Nature works in mysterious ways. Prayers for Jackie to recover and return to her nest, territory & Shadow! Thank you for watching!
