The Lake Travis Cavaliers took a nine shot lead into day two of the Class 6A Girls Golf Championship. Ann Parmeter, Morgan Lay, Lauren Comegys, Kaitlyn Papp and Kristen Gillman combined for the second best team score of Day Two. Only Coppell had a better day two shooting seven shots better than the Cavaliers, but since data center the Cowgirls were fifteen shots back in third place to begin the final round it was too little too late. Coppell would finish second overall though eight shots back of Lake Travis who had the second and third best overall individual scores with Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp finishing second individually at one under par for the two day tournament. LT Junior Kristen Gillman was fresh off an LPGA Tour appearance finished third at even par for the tournament good enough for third individually thanks in part to this birdie putt on 18. More on Lake Travis in a moment. The Woodlands were competitive all day and shot 304 as a team in the final round finishing fourth overall. Traditional girls golf powerhouse Montgomery finished third, a shot ahead of The Lady Highlanders as Hailee Cooper secured the top spot individually with a two day total of 141 two shots ahead of Cavalier golfer Papp and three shots ahead of LT's Gillman.

The Lake Travis girls took the team title for the third time in four years and the sixth state golf title overall for LT in both boys and girls competition. The Cavaliers shot a 600 total eight strokes better than second place Coppell. Let's hear from the gold medalist led by UT commit Kaitlyn Papp.

Meanwhile on the boys side 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody was on hand to watch his twin grand sons Parker and Pierceson Coody. Check out sally fields the putt for par on fifteen for Parker. Just like his grandpa used to do. Plano West would finish third overall with Andy Lopez claiming third individually. Austin Westlake would take second place overall behind the play of Reese Ramsey and Reid Davenport who finished thirty six holes tied for third individually with Lopez. The team to beat all year was Southlake Carroll. The Dragons thought they would be bringing two teams to state, but as it worked out they only needed one to claim the state jamie vardy championship. Mason Greenberg was the biggest threat to to his teammate Kober firing a 71 and 74 respectively. Greenberg is an emotional player who pushed his teammates to the brink of a state championship.

His junior teammate Colin Kober was your individual winner, who made some big birdie putts. Check him out on number nine for bird. In fact Kober finished in style with this birdie on 18 to finish with a two day total of 142. As a team the Dragons finished seven shots ahead of Austin Westlake with a final score of 588 total.
