"Well, it's got more - much more extreme. Yes. I always tried to dig deep and in the good Stanislavski way kind of created a big back story. But now these these back stories are gigantic. I mean, they're frightening. They're hundreds and hundreds of pages long. And I know the history not only of my own character, but of his parents, the grandparents and masses of research in this case into cult leaders, psychopaths, mass murderers, religious iconoclasts."

(Reporter: "Well, I'm curious as well, like with a role like this where it's a bit darker, how long does it take for you to snap out of it? Does the role go home with you? You know what I mean?)
"It's still very much with me. I killed three people this afternoon. I feel awful about that.

"I feel like doing any horror movie is exhausting. I always end up getting sick after because, like, my body's finally like, wow, I'm exhausted, and it can finally let itself be sick. Yeah. I mean, it was a lot of fun too, because we were working with such good, talented, really funny people. So, I mean, it was a positive experience, but really hard."

"I've had to learn because I've done a lot of darker projects, how to disconnect. And I think for me, music, trashy reality TV. STORYLINE:
Hugh Grant says he can't let go of his menacing character in the horror film "Heretic."
"I killed three people this afternoon. I feel awful about that," the 64-year-old British star joked at the movie's Thursday night premiere at AFI Fest in Los Angeles.
In the film, Grant plays a man who traps two young members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in his home, challenging their beliefs. He says he developed an elaborate history for the character, named Mr. Reed.
"Well, it's got more - much more extreme. Yes. I always tried to dig deep and in the good Stanislavski way kind of created a big back story. But now these these back stories are gigantic. I mean, they're frightening. They're hundreds and hundreds of pages long," Grant says. "And I know the history not only of my own character, but of his parents, the grandparents and masses of research in this case into cult leaders, psychopaths, mass murderers, religious iconoclasts."
Sophie Thatcher plays Sister Barnes and Chloe East plays Sister Paxton in the movie directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.
"I feel like doing any horror movie is exhausting. I always end up getting sick after because, like, my body's finally like, wow, I'm exhausted, and it can finally let itself be sick," Thatcher said. "It was a lot of fun too, because we were working with such good, talented, really funny people. So, I mean, it was a positive experience, rome open 2026 but really hard."
The A24 thriller hits theaters on Nov. 8 in the U.S.
