Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has forced the release of Anthony Fauci's diaries. In them, we see evidence that he questioned the market origins of the COVID hypothesis and privately advocated for lockdowns and school closures while publicly denying this. We also see a person who was increasingly aware of his own personal fame. In his diary, he openly reflected on how excited he was to have the opportunity to interact with celebrities like Julia Roberts and Barbara Streisand. To me, the real constitutional angle is that the progressive-era concept of "independent agencies" run by non-partisan experts is a farce. The idea behind that concept is that independent agencies are immune from the human tendencies towards ambition and corruption.
