Explore Sitka, Alaska cruise port on an independent 4K POV adventure during our Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) Norwegian Bliss Alaska cruise. Instead of booking a traditional cruise excursion, we rented a car through Turo and explored Sitka at our own pace. Our port day included historic St. Michaels Cathedral, downtown Sitka, the Alaska Raptor Center, and the scenic Sitka waterfront surrounded by mountains and coastal views

At the Alaska Raptor Center, we experienced close views of bald eagles and other birds of prey while learning about its mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wild birds. It is one of the most unique wildlife attractions and popular things to do in Sitka, Alaska.

Due to Sitkas extended winter season, Fortress of the Bear was closed during our visit. To help us share their incredible mission, Fortress of the Bear generously provided footage of the orphaned Alaska brown bears and black bears currently in their care.

Fortress of the Bear is dedicated to rescuing and providing a lifelong home for orphaned and displaced bears while educating visitors about Alaskas wildlife and conservation efforts.
