Hiya, after a long hiatus, I am BACK!!!!! and with a new series, Urban nicol barella Fox. A new urban planning focused video series about topical issues faced by modern American cities, using my hometown of Atlanta, Georgia as an example. In this first episode, I wanted to explore and explain what makes Atlanta's suburbs so sprawling and poorly planned. Many urbanists think that Houston, Texas, is the worst city in the United States for urban sprawl. This is largely based on the incredibly popular video essay by Not Just Bikes. I think this is wrong, and while Houston is very much a suburban hell, in this video, I make the case that not all sprawling car-oriented suburbs are created equal, and due to how Atlanta was developed, I believe it to be the worst case of urban planning malpractice in the US. We will also explore how Atlanta's suburbs can densify, and make themselves more livable places. I hope you enjoy!
