Prof Michael Brennan - Mayo Medical School Innovations: Preparing Better Rounded Doctors [zthGcp20l5f]
On 10th June, RCSI Alumnus, Professor Michael Brennan (Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Medical School in Minnesota, USA), delivered a lecture to staff and students at RCSI, 123 St Stephen’s Green, entitled 'Mayo Medical School Innovations: Preparing Better Rounded Doctors'. The lecture is based on are major curricular changes underway in American undergraduate medical education. They reflect calls from both within and outside the profession to better prepare doctors to meet and overcome the challenges imposed by a dysfunctional healthcare delivery system. This talk will highlight Mayo’s curricular changes around blended learning, teamwork, professionalism, enhancing student resilience and ‘Science of Healthcare Delivery’.
