New York City Mayor Mamdani says the city is preparing earlier and with upgraded resources as a nor’easter approaches the five boroughs. The storm is currently forecast to dump a foot or more of snow on New York City. For context, the city has not seen a blizzard warning in nine years. The mayor says this storm could bring up to six more inches of snow than the last major system, remnants of which are still visible across the city. “Unlike in the prior storm, we are predicted to have the assistance of Mother Nature this time around,” Mamdani said Saturday.
